Morton stable ready to sizzle

Fresh off a successful season which included a Group 1 victory and a five feature race victories, the Daniel Morton stable will be hoping to kick off the new season in style with He’s A Sizzler.

The gelding by Sizzling has had the three career starts for two placings, one of them being first-up in July over 1000m.

Heading into his first-up assignment with just the one trial, He’s A Sizzler rattled off some strong late sections to finish second behind eventual winner The Front Bar.

Stepping up to 1400m on Wednesday in the Furphy Handicap looks as though it will suit the three-year-old perfectly.

He will have to carry more than all his rivals, allocated the 60kg due to his strong two-year-old form.

It’s the only runner for Morton on Wednesday, while Chris Parnham who is riding, is booked for four rides.

Parnham was the winner of the Australian Jockey Premiership with 201 winners for season 2020/21.
