Son Son Winning at Ascot Racecourse April 21 2021

Son Son the one to catch

The Adam Durrant-trained gelding Son Son will be looking to add to his very impressive return that we saw at Ascot Racecourse a fortnight ago.

Having won two races in his first preparation, Son Son jumped at $8.50 first-up and was able to beat a strong field by two-lengths.

As we have seen in recent times, Durrant has put a lot of faith in apprentice Laqdar Ramoly and has been happy to use him on any of his gallopers carrying 60kg or more.

Son Son was allocated 62kg following that victory, so he will now carry the 60kg from barrier 2 with the claim.

Once again, although it is only a six-horse field, it is a strong mid-week race with four last start winners outside of Son Son.

Durrant will be hoping it is a strong start to the day where he has five runners accepted.
