Samizdat win at Ascot Racecourse, 2 November 2019

Gangemi sprinters target Scenic Blast

The Gangemi stable have consistently produced good sprinters in recent years and they will have four runners engaged in the Listed Scenic Blast Stakes (1200m) at Ascot on Saturday.

While Rock Magic has flown the flag for the stable in recent years, they will turn to Samizdat, Saracino, Lockroy and Battle Hero this weekend.

Group 3 winner Samizdat has been beaten by less than two-lengths in his first two runs this preparation, but will have to overcome his wide barrier (12).

Saracino was able to win the Listed Newmarket Sprint last preparation and was only beaten three-lengths first-up in the Listed Miss Andretti Stakes.

Lockroy will be first-up on Saturday having not raced since August last year, the nine-year-old gelding has been a consistent money earner since joining the stable in 2016.

Battle Hero will also step out for the stable, but will need to put behind him a disappointing performance last start in the Mungrup Sprint.

Despite having four chances in the twelve horse field, they’ll all be trying to beat Flirtini who returned to form last start by winning the Listed Miss Andretti.
