Lording win at Bunbury Turf Club, 22 March 2020

Geraldton galloper ready for town again

Lording is set to step out for the first-time this preparation at Ascot on Wednesday when he takes his place in the Class 1 1000m.

The four-year-old gelding by Trade Fair showed plenty of promise in his first preparation with a victory and a couple of placings against tough Saturday company.

Having not raced since September last year, trainer Barry Newnham brings his galloper into the race without a trial but does apply the blinkers.

Lording has been ridden predominately by Peta Edwards, but Troy Turner will take the ride for the first-time.

Turner will be hoping that Lording can use his customary speed to push forward and eliminate a sticky barrier.
