Wakan Tanka (yellow and maroon colours) did not have the clearest of runs behind subsequent WA Sires' Produce Stakes winner Lordhelpmerun in March

Punting Form race reports: Wednesday 5 September

Wakan Tanka debuted in Western Australia's first two-year-old race of last season and, according to Punting Form's exclusive neural prices, the new three-year-old has a favourite's chance of breaking through in his seventh start when he contests the Fifth Leg Maiden over 1,200 metres at Belmont Park on Wednesday.

Punting Form's neural prices rank Neville Parnham-trained Wakan Tanka just ahead of Simon Miller-trained Free Mover - the gallopers crossed the line next to each other in a recent trial. Last term, Wakan Tanka finished two and a half lengths off Chix Pic over 1,000m before being blocked for a run and ending up five lengths adrift of Lordhelpmerun over 1,200m. Wakan Tanka will be second up on Wednesday following his first-up second over 1,000m at Pinjarra Park in which he beat all bar Mankind, the half brother of Respondent and State Solicitor.
