Rock Magic

Age no issue for Rock Magic

Rock Magic will step out in the Listed Furphy – R.S. Crawford Stakes (1000m) at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday as a twelve-year-old gelding.

It will be start number 61 for the marvel who continues to demonstrate his love for racing with his incredible results.

“Rocky” has had 16 starts first-up, producing four victories, while he’s had and four runs at the track and distance for one win and a placing.

While seeing Rocky take his place in the best sprint races in WA is a familiar site, seeing him without Jarrad Noske in the saddle, is not.

Noske has stepped away from race riding in recent times but did partner Rocky for all his race start in WA except for two occasions.

On those two occasions, Brad Parnham and William Pike who picked up the rides were both victorious in the saddle.

Clint Johnston-Porter has been given the opportunity to ride Rock Magic and will also ride Massimo for the Gangemi stable in the Group 3 Crown Perth – Northerly Stakes.

In the last 12 months Johnston-Porter is striking at a 17.6% for the stable and placing 45.1% of the time, with an average winning price of $5.36.

The combination struck at Ascot on Wednesday with Mercanto winning the last race of the day.
