Come Play With Me win Belmont Saturday 13 July 2019
Group 1 winner Come Play With Me will make his return this weekend at Ascot when he steps out in the Diggers Cup (1800m).
The gelding by Blackfriars won the Group 1 Metrop back in 2019 but since then has struggled to have an impact in races.
Last preparation he was unable to play a part in the Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie Cup, but leading trainer Adam Durrant will be hoping for a different outcome this preparation.
He comes into this race off three trials, with two being over 1450m, showing positive signs by winning his most recent trial by 4.5 lengths.
He does have to carry 62kg first-up but has drawn barrier one with Mitchell Pateman in the saddle.
Adam Durrant also has Mackenzie Brooke in the same race who impressed with a strong finish first-up.
