Mrs America

Mrs America makes her return

Three-year-old filly, Mrs America, will make her return to the track following an encouraging first preparation.

The filly by American Pharoah has had four career starts and two victories, including her maiden victory which was by two-lengths.

Travelling in the back-half of the field, she was able to show an impressive turn of foot to run the final 600m in a time of 34.29 seconds.

She then dropped back in trip second-up and struggled to display the same brilliance, demonstrating she was going to need further next start.

Stepping out to 1400m next start saw her able to sit closer through the early stages of the run and then let down strongly to record her second career victory.

Trained by Grant and Alana Williams, the Peters Investment galloper when to the Group 3 Champion Fillies next start, where she finished in seventh place beaten six-lengths by the eventual winner, Searchin’ Roc’s.

With William Pike suspended, Clint Johnston-Porter will take the ride from barrier 9 in the class 3 handicap over 1200m.
