Miss Conteki Winning at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 1 May 2021

Class for Miller in Beaufine

Trainer Simon Miller will be hoping he can win the Listed Beaufine Stakes (1000m) at Belmont Park on Saturday with either Miss Conteki or Amasenus.

Both of his four-year-old mares have been in exceptional form and have performed well on rain effected tracks which will be vital on Saturday.

Miss Conteki has won seven races from her nine career starts and attacked the line strongly last start in a 78+ 1000m when she finished behind Long Beach.

The confidence for Miller can only be boosted by the booking of leading jockey William Pike who will take the ride from regular rider Chris Parnham who will be riding the inform stablemate.

Amasenus has been a revelation in recent times and has now won six in a row, all with Parnham in the saddle.

Having the two best jockeys in the state on two quality mares has given Miller a huge opportunity to win the $100,000 event.

The pair will not have it their own way though with Nerodio having won his last two, Long Beach beating Miss Conteki for his new stable first-up and Gemma’s Son also impressing in that race when finishing third.

The event will be run at 3.10pm local time with 11 races now scheduled after Wednesday was abandoned.
