Regal Power recorded the fastest last 200 metres of any race on Ted van Heemst Day even though William Pike did not move a muscle aboard him

The Run of the Race: Episode 58

Ted van Heemst Stakes winner Regal Power posted not only the quickest late splits of the Group Two contest over 2,100 metres but also the fastest last 200 metres sectional of the 10-race meeting at Ascot Racecourse.

Punting Form clocked Regal Power's final furlong at 11.12 seconds, 12 one-hundredths of a second quicker than Arctic Stream's last 200m split at the end of the latter's 1,800m event. Regal Power's dam, Broadway Belle, has produced two sons of Pierro and both of them - Action is the other - have won a Schweppes-WATC Derby. Her subsequent produce are Vanman, which is a two-year-old Vancouver colt, an unnamed American Pharoah yearling filly and an unnamed Pierro filly born two months ago.

Ascot Racecourse is where horseplay lives and next is ATA Stakes Day one week before TABtouch Perth Cup Day ends the Ascot Racing Carnival.
