Massimo has the Punting Form numbers to merit TABtouch - Better Your Bet Plate favouritism

Punting Form race reports: Saturday 24 August

Massimo beat Punting Form's overall benchmark rating as well as Amarillo Rose and Rubic Rose when the Adam Durrant-trained gelding made his triumphant debut at Belmont Park two weeks ago and he is likely to have the measure of whichever gallopers he faces in Saturday's TABtouch - Better Your Bet Plate.

Last season's Western Australia-based two-year-olds which made it to the track did not register particularly good Punting Form numbers, with the 2019 Amelia Park-Karrakatta Plate being one of the lowest rating editions of the race in years. Massimo celebrated his third birthday before he made his competitive bow and he looked the goods in landing something of a gamble with TABtouch, his odds shortening from 4.20 to 2.90 prior to his Belmont Park victory. Brodie Kirby's loyalty to his master, Dion Luciani, means he will ride Amarillo Rose instead of Massimo, which another apprentice, Jade McNaught, will steer around the course.
