Galaxy Star is three from three both second up and racing at Belmont Park

Punting Form race reports: Saturday 1 June

According to Punting Form, Galaxy Star is deservedly short odds to win Saturday's Belmont Sprint, the first of this year's three Group races at Perth Racing's winter venue.

Vital Silver capitalised on the D'Orsogna-Roma Cup's slow tempo to win the final feature event of the Ascot Racecourse season but, with the Belmont Sprint being not only over an extra 200 metres but also staged at a track with a lengthy straight, it is difficult to envisage a repeat result. The two-year Punting Form personal best of Galaxy Star is many lengths superior to all bar two of her Belmont Sprint rivals and Great Shot probably needs farther than 1,400m to be at his peak and Gatting has not raced since finishing fifth in the TABtouch-Perth Cup, although it is worth noting he won the WAROA-Lee Steere Stakes first up in November. You could make a case Galaxy Star should be trading at Winx-like odds.
