In celebrating the 2017 Ascot Racing Carnival we launch with Crown Perth Opening Day on Saturday October 21, featuring MYER Fashions on the Field in the stunning double storey marquee at Ascot Racecourse. The state winner of the illustrious fashion competition will win prizes in excess of $10,000, including a trip to Melbourne Cup Carnival and an invitation to compete in the Myer Fashions on the Field National Final at Flemington on Kennedy Oaks Day, November 9, with a prize pool valued at over $115,000. 

A variety of hospitality packages, pop ups and entertainment will be on offer on Crown Perth Opening Day. The seven remaining finalists finishing in the top ten will receive a $50 Review voucher. 

This is a women's only competition and will be judged in the 'Best Dressed Race Wear' section, under the following judging criteria: 

  • Style and originality
  • Appropriateness of the outfit for the Spring Racing Carnival Season and the individual
  • Attention to details with all aspects of the outfit such as shoes, handbag and accessories
  • Understanding the interpretation of race wear and current trends
  • Grooming and deportment
  • Suitability of the outfit for the climate

Registrants on the day will be open from 11:30am and will close 1:00pm SHARP. 

The registration desk will be located adjacent to the entrance of the double marquee. First heats commence 1.20pm.

Online Pre-Registrations are now CLOSED. Pre-registrations closed 20 October at 4:00pm.

  • Contestants must be at least 18 years of age and female
  • Contestants and/or their outfits must not promote commercially a brand, store or designer
  • Contestants must not receive any compensation from a third party for entering the competition
  • A hat or headpiece is compulsory for women
  • All prizes won by the contestant must be redeemed by that person only and are not permitted to be transferred to another individual or party
  • Contestants who place in the competition are not permitted to alter their outfits in any way throughout the stages of the finals
  • Employees, directors and other representatives of the Promoter and organisations involved in sponsoring or conducting any 2017 Myer Fashions on the Field event that is associated with the VRC (and any individuals so involved, including judges) are ineligible, as are members of their immediate families and household
  • Winners of the 2016 Myer Fashions on the Field Women’s Racewear State Finals are ineligible to enter any competitions associated with the 2017 Myer Fashions on the Field Women’s Racewear competition
  • Any person who is in any way involved with, works as or otherwise works for an organisation or individual (including milliners or designers) that commercially produces fashion clothing, hats or similar for profit, is also ineligible to enter any competitions (including the Victorian Competition and National Final) associated with the 2017 Myer Fashions on the Field Women’s Racewear competition
  • Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and not redeemable for cash
