1400m the choice for Oly

Trainer Brock Lewthwaite will be hoping that the decision of stepping up to 1400m for Oly’s Choice will be a winning one.

The three-year-old gelding by Demerit has had two starts for a victory and a second while being ridden by leading hoop Clint Johnston-Porter.

Following a nice trial win on May 16, Oly’s Choice received late support on debut and showed a nice turn of foot late to win over 1000m at Northam.

Stepping up to 1200m second up, he again sat parked behind the leaders for most of the race and then was narrowly beaten by Hola Marea.

On both occasions he jumped from barrier 1, so Johnston-Porter will have a little more difficulties finding a spot from barrier 7 on this occasion.

The race is filled with nice form lines including Ataboy Charlie and Starring Knight who both won last start, and Magnificent Andy, Let’s Galahvant and Without Reg who all won the start before last.

The seven-race card will commence with this event at 1.14pm local time.
