Placement key for Outspoken Lad
Outspoken Lad will be hoping that the smart placement by trainers Daniel & Ben Pearce, along with the claim can help him to win for the third time in his career.
The gelding by Awesome Rock finished fourth in the Group 2 Schweppes-W.A.T.C Derby at the end of last preparation and backed that up with a solid performance first-up in the Listed Raconteur Stakes, finishing 3.6 lengths behind Devoted.
Not only does Outspoken Lad drop back to easier company, but he also gets the 3kg claiming allowance with apprentice Taj Dyson taking the ride.
Outspoken Lad has shown his ability to win fresh in previous preparations and was a winner second-up last preparation before going on to finish fifth in the Listed JC Roberts, third in the Listed Melvista Stakes and then the fourth in the Schweppes-WATC Derby.
The Pearce stable will also saddle up Westozi (Race 2), Inahappydaze (Race 5) and Celebrity Witness who is in the same race as Outspoken Lad.
