Ex-Victorian looking for back-to-back victories

In-form trainer Simon Miller will be hoping that ex-Victorian galloper The Admiral can go back-to-back when he steps out at Belmont Park Racecourse for the first time on Wednesday.

The four-year-old by Pride Of Dubai put the writing on the wall after his first performance in Western Australia when he flew home late after being forced to go back from a wide draw.

Last start he was able to settle closer to the speed from barrier 4 and appreciated the extra 100m when stepping out to 1500m.

It was a dominant victory by over two-lengths and now he stretches out to 1650m but does have to carry 60kg from a tricky barrier.

Miller has given full credit to form expert Dean Lester who has ownership in this horse and told Miller that this is a galloper he should purchase and experiment with in WA.

“When Dean calls and tells you something, you listen and do as he says,” Miller laughed.

The race will commence at 4.15pm local time.
