Miss Conteki the horse to beat

Exciting five-year-old mare, Miss Conteki, is clearly the horse to beat this Saturday at Ascot when she takes her place in the Listed Miss Andretti Stakes (1100m).

The mare by Eurozone, couldn’t have been any more impressive when winning the Listed Summer Scorcher last start.

Trained by Simon Miller, the five-year-old was a mile off them as they cornered for home, with race caller Darren McCauley even saying, “Geez Miss Conteki would need to be fired out of a canon to win from there.”

The exciting mare ran home in a time of 32.81 for the last 600m to reach The Front Bar just before the winning post and bring up her eighth career victory from 12 starts.

She steps out to 1100m for only the second time in her career, the first time was when she was on debut at Bunbury and won under William Pike.

She has opened as the early favourite with TABTouch, just in front of Clairvoyance who makes her much anticipated return this weekend.
