New look cerise and white still looking to dominate

The cerise and white of owner and breeder Mr. Bob Peters has the two favourites for the Listed G.A. Towton Cup, but it looks a little different this weekend.

With regular jockey William Pike out with suspension and Chris Parnham riding for regular trainer Daniel Morton, Patrick Carbery and Clint Johnston-Porter get their opportunities to claim a listed win and build momentum towards the Group 2 Perth Cup.

Carbery made the most of his opportunity last week when riding Regal Power and claimed his fourth Group 1 victory, while Johnston-Porter sits second in the WA Jockey Premiership behind Pike and rode the most winners behind Pike in the TabTouch Masters series.

Midnight Blue will be hoping to bounce back having been defeated as the $1.75 favourite last start in the listed Tattersalls Cup. His victory in the previous start, the Listed Ascot Gold Cup, showed that he was one of the leading contenders for the Perth Cup on January 1, 2022.

Pure Devotion is looking for four victories in a row having been successful in 60+, 66+ and 68+ events. The mare by So You Think got black-type when placing as a three-year-old, but this is her biggest test as a four-year-old mare.

Both runners are trained by Grant and Alana William who will be hoping to add another trophy to an already overflowing cabinet.
