Tena Koutou Winning 3 July 2021

Durrant brings Kal form to Belmont

Adam Durrant has had plenty of success over the years by building confidence in his runners and he will be hoping to do the same again with five-year-old mare Miss Zedel when she steps out at Belmont Park tomorrow.

The mare by Bullet Train has had four runs this preparation, one at York and three at Kalgoorlie, which have included a victory and two narrow defeats.

Now stepping out over 1700m, the mare has drawn well and has inform jockey Clint Johnston-Porter in the saddle.

Another bonus for the mare coming into the race is that she has performed well in wet conditions with three starts on a soft track for a victory and a second.

The process of building confidence in his gallopers with victories at Albany or Kalgoorlie before bringing them to town was evident a few weeks ago with three-year-old gelding Tena Koutou who won a maiden at Kalgoorlie, then winning at Pinjarra, before winning the Listed Aquanita Stakes at Belmont Park.

Durrant has a big day tomorrow with nine runners currently engaged across the nine races.
