Leading Girl Winning 29 May 2021 at Belmont Park Racecourse

Hoping to lead the way

Talented mare Leading Girl will chase her first black-type victory when she steps out in the Group 3 Seacorp Hyperion Stakes (1600m) at Belmont Park on Saturday.

The mare by Reliable Man has six career victories from her twelve starts and has only missed the placings on one occasion.

Having placed in the Group 3 Champion Fillies back in 2018, the mare trained by Grant and Alana Williams has gone through her grades nicely, including last reparation where she won two 72+ ratings races back-to-back before going for a spell.

She returned in fine form a fortnight ago with a strong win in a 71+ 1400 on a soft 6 when jumping as the clear favourite.

Drawn barrier 11, William Pike will certainly go back as we have seen throughout her career and hope that she delivers the devastating turn of foot that we have come accustomed to seeing.

She is currently second favourite for the event with last start Group 3 Belmont Sprint winner The Velvet King the early favourite with punters.
