Undefeated galloper Written Matter will get his chance to show his true credentials when he takes his place in the Listed Raconteur Stakes (1400m) at Belmont Park on Saturday.
The three-year-old gelding by Written Tycoon has had his mental issues which is why he is so lightly raced but is now demonstrating that he is past all of that and ready to show his true ability.
On debut, Written Matter was able to lead all the way in the Class 1 1200m proving he was too good for the rest of the field.
Second-up he showed that he has more dimensions and was able to take a sit one-out-one-back before showing a nice turn of foot late.
This weekend he has drawn the outside barrier, so he is going to have to show another dimension with the speed map likely seeing him go back and taking a sit.
Shaun McGruddy will take the ride for the first time on the gelding with regular jockey Jarrad Noske unable to ride at 55kg.
The race will commence at 3.50pm local time.
