Chiclett chases her fourth victory

Three-year-old filly Chiclett will be aiming to win her fourth career race when she steps out in race 1 at Ascot on Wednesday, a three-year-old no metro wins 54+ event.

The mare by Tavistock has shown plenty of ability with some strong victories and competitive performances against listed company.

Having been allocated 60kg, the Pearce-brothers have elected to put Kristy Bennett back in the saddle so that she will only have to carry 57kg.

It will be three-and-a-half weeks since her last run, which was over 1400m, and she comes up against some horses that are also having strong campaigns.

The Verdict trained by Colin Webster is looking for three victories in a row, while Snip’n’tuck has also shown improvement in her three runs back this preparation.

Piccola Signora and Big Screen have also won races this campaign, while Dark Lass will have William Pike in the saddle and showed from her last start that she will appreciate stepping up to 1600m.

The seven-race card kicks off at 1.14pm local time.
