Dig Deep winning at Ascot
Following his impressive performance in the Listed Grandstand Cup, Dig Deep will be hoping to add the Listed Old Comrade Stakes to his victories this preparation when he steps out at Ascot Racecourse on Good Friday.
The talented four-year-old gelding by Deep Field has now won three of his last five starts to add to his two victories as a two-year-old which included the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate.
Although luckless when finishing tenth in the Listed Bunbury Stakes, he demonstrated that he had come back in great order and was then given a ten-out-of-ten ride last start by Clint Johnston-Porter to hold off a fast-finishing Samizdat.
He will again have to show improvement with Samizdat meeting him 1.5kg better and stepping up to 1600m, a distance that he has never won over previously.
