Dig Deep win at Ascot Racecourse, 19 December 2020

Pike ready to Dig Deep in Easingwold Stakes

Four-year-old gelding Dig Deep will be hoping to continue his recent consistent form when he steps out in the Easingwold Stakes (1400m) at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday.

As a two-year-old, the gelding by Deep Field took the owners on a fairy tale journey and was able to win the Group 2 Amelia Park-Karrakatta Stakes in what will always be remembered as a highly emotional day on course.

Having been patient with him, he's returned in top form this preparation with two-placings and a victory last start when William Pike jumped aboard in a 72+ 1400m.

In a nine-horse field, Dig Deep has drawn perfectly in barrier 4, giving Pike plenty of options through the early stages of the race.

Pike will be hoping for a better day out this Saturday, the Wizard rode two winners last Saturday, one being a dead-heat and finished with three-seconds, beaten a combined margin of less than 0.4 lengths.
