Elite Street winning the Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes, 28 November 2020
The TABtouch Masters continued today with Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes Day, featuring Australia’s last Group One sprint of the year with the $1 million Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes coupled with the Final of the WA Fashions on the Field Competition.
Jockey Brad Rawiller has returned from Melbourne to light up Perth’s bright blue skies in today’s win and second day of the TABtouch Masters and the Group One $1 million Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes. Elite Street trained by Daniel Morton and new rider Brad Rawiller have pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Group One results at Ascot Racecourse that WA has seen in the past decade.
Celebrity Queen finished second followed by the veteran Rock Magic for third. Godolphin trained Trekking finished fourth after travelling to Perth for the TABtouch Masters and the Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes.
The off-track action was just as impressive with the final of the WA Fashions on the Field Competition, the culmination of months of regional heats with twelve winners representing race clubs from across WA’s regions.
The finalists showcased eye-catching looks with Anna Hildebrandt from the Metro/Peel Region taking home first prize. Anna won a trip for two to attend the 2021 Royal Ascot, plus $10,000 spending money and a $5,000 Linneys voucher.
Perth Racing Managing Director, Professor John Yovich AM, said, “We are having a standout TABtouch Masters and Perth Racing has attracted a very high calibre of racing competitors this year despite the challenged with COVID-19. “
“We’ve received overwhelming positive feedback from racegoers about coming out to Ascot and the new facility upgrades proving popular for the entertainment experiences here in Perth for local residents, visitors afar and those from the regions,” said Yovich.
Ascot Racecourse put on the Ritz with a huge range of hospitality and entertainment options for patrons to enjoy including the highly-popular Masters Lounge cocktail party in the stylish marquee and The Fashion Pavilion within the Final of WA Fashions on the Field, providing the ultimate entertainment experience, hosted by Perth Racing Ambassador Grady Wulff and Nova 93.7 presenter Ross Wallman.
The TABtouch Masters consists of three consecutive $1,000,000 Group One racedays at Ascot Racecourse with PeopleStart Kingston Town Classic Day running next Saturday, 5 December.
