Great events to enjoy this Autumn

Enjoy horseplay at its finest with plenty of entertainment and venues to graze your way through during the cooler months of autumn.

The 2020 Autumn Racing Carnival at Ascot Racecourse kicks off with the family favourite City of Belmont WA Oaks Day, Saturday 28 March, and runs right through to the stylish Schweppes WATC Derby Day Saturday 11 April. For our final Autumn Racing Carnival day, we’re calling on the people of Perth to help break a Guinness Book of World Record for the largest speed dating event in the world! So forget Tinder, gather your BFF's and come and enjoy a classy picnic, dressing up in your finest black and whites and cruise to DJ tunes on the lawn.

But it’s the little things that matter too with regular races running every Wednesday and Saturday in addition to carnival days, featuring fantastic entertainment and hospitality until Saturday 16 May, as we head to Belmont Park Racecourse for winter racing.

Here’s our selection of great events for you, your family and friends to enjoy this autumn:

  1. St Patrick’s Raceday

    Make it a St Patrick’s Day WEEK with St Patrick’s Raceday, Saturday 21 March. Treat yourself to a day of colour and smiles at our annual St Patrick’s Raceday. In addition to the epic raceday atmosphere, enjoy live Irish music, Guinness pints, house-made beef & Guinness pies, McDonnells curry sauce and chips plus more.

     

  2. City of Belmont WA Oaks Day

    We’re kicking off the 2020 Autumn Racing Carnival with a day designed for the whole family, City of Belmont WA Oaks Day on Saturday 28 March. It’s FREE ENTRY for the kids and City of Belmont residents, so gather the family and head to Ascot Racecourse for a day of family fun!

    All kids (big and small) can also learn more about careers in racing, test out the pony rides, mingle with Violet Crumble the Clown and our resident clown on stilts, try your hand at the hobby horse tournament and jump your way into the bouncy castle or kick back with some face painting and ice cream from our new Ice-Creamery.

     

  3. Amelia Park Karrakatta Plate Day

    It’s ladies day at Ascot Racecourse for Amelia Park Karrakatta Plate Day on Saturday, 4 April. Gather the group and enjoy a fabulous day out. The highly anticipated Fashions on the Field Competition returns with ladies, men’s and family categories offering amazing prizes up for grabs, so get those outfits ready! Popular hospitality packages include the stylish Enclosure on the Deck event featuring a Prosecco and Aperol Spritz pop-up. Or get amongst all the fashion at the brand-new Fashions & Flavours cocktail VIP event within the Fashions on the Field precinct.

     

  4. Good Friday Family Raceday

    Kick off your Easter long weekend with Good Friday Family Raceday with FREE ENTRY for all! Enjoy a fabulous day out with your family and friends with a great range of bars, food truck heaven, plus our premium and casual dining options available. Plus, there’s heaps of fun activities for the kids, including the Easter bunny! Friday 10 April.

  5. Schweppes WATC Derby Day – and the largest speed dating event in the world!

    Perth singles get ready!  We’re attempting to break a Guinness World Record at Australia’s Biggest Singles Party – with the record for the largest speed dating event in the world! You’ll have the opportunity to mingle with Perth’s most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes at a fun trackside location.  Also on-course, punters can put their punting skills to the test and compete at the TABtouch Punters Club to win thousands of dollars in prizes. Tickets include a fantastic hospitality package and real betting money. It’s all happening at the stylish black and white themed Schweppes WATC Derby Day, which concludes the Autumn Racing Carnival, Saturday 11 April. (But the races continue until 16 May 2020.)

  6. Family Days at Ascot Racecourse

    Always keep the kids in mind – but especially for our full-on Ascot Racecourse Family Days. Everyone will be kept entertained with plenty of free activities for the kids, including water slides, a bouncy castle, giant games, an animal farm and hobby horse tournaments: 28 March, 10 April, and 9 May.

  7. Midweek (Wednesdays) Racing

    Plan for an excellent midweek meet up for business meetings with a difference, or simply catch up with friends and colleagues. Midweek racing is available on Wednesdays from midday through to early evening with a variety of bars and eateries open as well as a gorgeous lunch in our fine dining Flying Colours Restaurant, available on the first Wednesday of every month.

  8. Saturdays on course for #AscotgoodTimes

    Not to be missed – outside of Autumn Racing carnival dates, you can enjoy the thoroughbred’s on-course with our weekly Saturday race meetings neck-and-neck with our full-offerings of entertainment and hospitality including Picnic at Ascot, where you can indulge in a gourmet picnic hamper for two at your own shaded trackside reserved table.

  9. Dining & Hospitality any day

    Throughout the seasons you can hire out any one of our amazing venues for your own private group function with bars, decks and lounges that cater from 20 to 30,000 guests available to general public and members alike.
