Long Beach (cerise and white colours) is a half brother of several smart gallopers, including Respondent, State Solicitor and Mankind
I Am Invincible gelding Long Beach is bred to win better races than a Wednesday contest so he is a worthy favourite to take out the Western Racepix Maiden.
A half brother of several smart gallopers, including Respondent, State Solicitor and Mankind, Long Beach debuted on the final day of last season and placed second behind Platinum Bullet at Belmont Park. Two and a half weeks later, Long Beach jumped at odds on to win a three-year-old event but, while he let down punters, he had a legitimate excuse having returned with an elevated heart rate. Long Beach trialled at Lark Hill earlier this month and he won his preparatory heat comfortably, suggesting he is set for a fruitful second campaign. Punting Form's neural prices list Long Beach as the Western Racepix Maiden favourite and, with Wednesday's race appearing to have a long tail, anything above even money seems fair about the Grant and Alana Williams-trained gelding.
