William Pike jumps off Stageman for the first time in the galloper's career

Punting Form race reports: Saturday 14 September

Stageman will race without William Pike on his back for the first time if he contests Saturday's Crown Perth Handicap at Belmont Park because Adam Durrant and Bob Peters have chosen to engage Jade McNaught to replace the galloper's impost in the meeting's final event from 61.5 kilograms to 59.5 kilograms.

Punting Form's Crown Perth Handicap speed map forecasts the race will be run at a fast tempo with the likes of Citichant, More Aces, Mervyn and hat-trick seeker Ice Maker arguing over the lead. No Crown Perth Handicap runner has a higher last-start Punting Form rating than Stageman and he achieved his -5.1 number off what was an unsuitable early tempo. Stageman has the capability to improve upon his performance two weeks ago and he looked suited to the likely speed.
