Karen Kersley-trained Catherine Wheel has won two of her three starts

Punting Form race reports: Saturday 25 May

There was no shame in Catherine Wheel relinquishing her unbeaten record last month on her third career start because, according to Punting Form, her effort was the fifth best of the Saturday 20 April meeting at Ascot Racecourse, bettered only by four in-form gallopers - Valour Road, Dance Music, Mervyn and Hoboken.

Catherine Wheel, which is putting a smile on the face of her injured trainer, Karen Kersley, recorded a Punting Form rating of -4.4 in placing second behind Dance Music five weeks ago. Catherine Wheel's Punting Form personal best is at least 1.5 lengths superior to that of her opponents in Saturday's Nick Troup Birthday Handicap at Belmont Park and her wide barrier may result in TABtouch risking her in its early betting market given the speed drawn inside Ben Paterson's mount.
