Paddy's Shadow (black and white colours) split black type winners Friar Fox and Action on his previous Ascot Racecourse appearance

Punting Form race reports: Wednesday 23 January

The slowly run nature of last season's Belmont Oaks means Paddy's Shadow is probably flattered by her third placing and proximity to the winner, Mizlecki, but she has registered sufficiently good Punting Form numbers during her career to warrant serious consideration for Wednesday's Morley Growers Market Handicap at Ascot Racecourse even though she will jump from the outside gate.

Based on Punting Form's data from Western Australian races in the last two years, Paddy's Shadow has put up the strongest individual effort of the Morley Growers Market Handicap field and it was over 1,400 metres at Belmont Park behind Saturday gallopers Rockon Tommy, Arrum Boy and Disruptive. That performance was third up during the previous preparation of Paddy's Shadow, which is set to make her third appearance this campaign on Wednesday's twilight program.
