Market Ruler is undefeated over 1,000 metres, including one win over Ascot Racecourse's shortest trip

Punting Form race reports: Saturday 8 December

Market Ruler is unbeaten in her three races over 1,000 metres - one at Ascot Racecourse and two at Belmont Park - and, according to Punting Form's figures, she would take a lot of beating in the Magic Millions Kingston Town Classic Day-opening Tourism WA Trophy if she reproduces her form over five furlongs.

Simon Miller threw Market Ruler into the RUC Cementation-Belgravia Stakes and the TABtouch-Burgess Queen Stakes on her first two starts this preparation and a mixture of class and distance resulted in her finishing ninth in each of those Listed races, the first over 1,200m and the second over 1,400m. Back over 1,000m on Saturday and drawn ideally in barrier one under her latest jockey, Damian Lane, Market Ruler opened as the TABtouch fixed odds favourite against a maximum of six Tourism WA Trophy and the next two gallopers in the early betting market, Fire And Rain and Classy Lassy, both have apprentice jockeys on their backs.
