Key Runners: Ascot - Saturday 11 November

Expected Weather: Fine and 31 degrees

Expected Track Rating: Good 4

Rail position: 9m position

Race 1: 12.55pm – Vale Peter Appleyard Plate (1,200m) - Bet with TABtouch

1 ARRUM BOY ran well against the pattern of the day in The Belgravia. Been up for some time but has the ability to figure here.

2 ROCKON TOMMY has been green but still smashed the clock in recent runs. First time around Ascot but is looking for three wins in a row and maps well in a race with little speed.

3 SOUNDCHECK was plain when considerable margin off Fabergino. Extra furlong may suit here but will need to find best and a bit more.

4 AL CAPITANO resumes. Up against some handy ones.

5 IN LOVE WITH PARIS showed plenty of talent to score on debut. Can match these with nice run from barrier two.

6 PEARL TRADE broke 34 for last 600m when 3L off Fabergino but was entitled to got back on a frantic tempo. Has place claims.

7 TRULY BELONG the run of the race behind the winner Perfect Jewel in The Belgravia. Like Arrum Boy, made good ground from the back, against the pattern of the day. Should be peaking now third-up.

Selections: 2-7-5-1

Race 2: 1.40pm – Ballpoint Construction Group Handicap (1,000m) - Bet with TABtouch

1 THATELDO came with a good run down the outside behind Celebrity Dream at big odds. Fitter now third-up and can figure.

2 CHINETTI ridden upside down from wide draw last start behind Royal Star and had no impact. Can run better from inside alley.

3 SECRET ASSAULT ran a super race fresh behind Celebrity Dream. Tricky draw but has place claims.

4 TENTERDEN game effort over this track/distance last start behind Celebrity Dream. Drawn well in barrier three and looks the main danger to the favourite.

5 MY GRACE showed a good turn of foot in last start win at Bunbury. Ticks a lot of boxes here and is ready for this challenge now.

6 UNIVERSAL MOON resumes off no public trial. Poor end to last campaign suggests place claims best.

7 GLIMMER GIRL has been costly to the punters in two runs back from a spell. Month between runs, but on form, hard to see winning.

8 MR MCBU beaten favourite in past two bush runs. Looks tested.

Selections: 5-4-1-3

Race 3: 2.30pm – Express Interior Design Handicap (1,600m) - Bet with TABtouch

1 BATTLE TORQUE no luck behind Slick Talker. Back to the mile suits as does the claim. Can figure.

2 OUR MATE AL needed the run behind Oliver’s Travels last start. Will strip fitter and draws nicely in barrier three.

3 REVEILLE slow tempo gave her no hope behind See Me Sizzle. Can produce a better result with a touch of luck here.

4 SUNSET SUPERMAN raced wide first-up when no match for See Me Sizzle. Will be better over further and would surprise if saluted.

5 BARRY’S RABBIT even performance behind Ruling Angel. Should be better for that run third-up now, but draws awkwardly in nine.

6 JESTER ROCK sit and sprint didn’t suit behind See Me Sizzle. Better tempo can see a better result here.

7 JUST LIKE THAT scratched.

8 ROGANELLA smart 3yo who was impressive last start behind Three Secrets. Drawn the inside alley and will be hard to hold out.

9 ROGUE EMPRESS trailed See Me Sizzle along the rail and benefitted from the slow speed. Still kicked well in the straight and finish in the money.

10 THE SHOE led and kicked strongly but just found Vital Silver too strong late. Third-up.

Selections: 1-8-3-5

Race 4: 3.10pm – Devwest – Conquer Cystic Fibrosis Handicap (2,200m) - Bet with TABtouch

1 ALREADY FAMOUS sat leaders back and was suited by soft speed set by Trap For Fools. Claim assists.

2 TRAP FOR FOOLS has won four of his last five races and run second in the other. Will be hard to get past again.

3 FINAL SALUTE two-lengths off War God last start. Ran well at the staying trips as a 3yo. 1400m up to 2200m.

4 OUTLAW PETE ran home really well to be 3L off Trap For Fools. Fred Kersley Junior is flying and his claim again assists here.

5 COULEUR BIZARRE over-raced throughout and consequently proved no match for Trap For Fools. Prefer others.

6 ENTRECHAT enjoyed a nice run in transit behind Trap For Fools but couldn’t accelerate when required. Hard to see placing on that effort.

7 SONNEN beaten by a walking tempo behind Trap For Fools last start. Looks a touch more pace here and can go one better.

8 JUICING CARROTS up from the 1600m to the 2200m. First run at the trip for 18 months and hard to see placing.

9 THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN better effort behind Master Magician. This is tougher but isn’t without a place chance.

Selections: 7-2-3-4

Race 5: 3.45 – Conquer Cystic Fibrosis – Fairetha Stakes (1,400m) - Bet with TABtouch

1 DEBELLATIO resumes. Ran well in two starts in the winter and has trialled nicely coming into this. Can’t discount.

2 ACHERNAR STAR dug deep to beat Gigante last start. Will need luck from gate 11 but third-up now and looking for 1400m.

3 COGNAC two runs at 1000m now up to 1400m. Last 600m was quickest of race behind Fabergino. Drawn barrier 10.

4 MONEY MAHER runs for the first time in six weeks. Won two in a row before racing without luck and failing last start. Drawn well in three and has each-way claims.

5 TURBO POWER stuck to the rail when 4L off Perfect Jewel in Belgravia. Place looks best.

6 ATHLETE failed without reason six weeks ago at Belmont. Back-to-back wins the two starts prior. Talented, but would prefer to see return before wagering.

7 ARCADIA PRINCE sprinted well to nab Necklet on the post last start. Stays at 1400m. Stable is flying and looks one of the main chances.

8 GALVESTON BAY three lengths off Perfect Jewel in The Belgravia. Draws poorly here in nine and place chance looks best.

9 VITAL DANCER led all the way in tough win at Bunbury. A number of those in behind have gone on to run well since. Should be on speed again and be in this for a long way.

10 REYKJAVIK got too far out his ground last start behind Arcadia Prince. Ran home well though and barrier three here should see more luck in running. Not out of this.

11 CAPTAIN STIRLING plenty of excuses last start - went back from wide draw, pace was soft and had a wall of horses in front of him in the straight. The way he finished off though suggests he’s a place chance here.

12 BRUTUS MAXIMUS made good ground late behind Sally’s Realm. This is a different challenge altogether though. Going with others.

Selections: 2-9-7-1

Race 6: 4.15pm - WAROA – Lee Steere Stakes (1,600m) - Bet with TABtouch

1 SCALES OF JUSTICE superstar returning from Melbourne after a setback. Has trialled well and can recapture best and salute here.

2 DISPOSITION held-up in the straight behind Silverstream in The Northerly. Didn’t quicken as expected when found clear room though and will need to lift to win here.

3 MAN BOOKER scratched.

4 MIKI TWO TOES another typically honest effort behind Material Man in Northam Cup. Barrier eight makes things tougher and suspect he’ll be running home in behind a few.

5 GREAT SHOT fractious in barriers and returned with blood in mouth post- Northam Cup. Still had a serious crack to finish third. Fourth-up now, drawn barrier four and must be considered for the multiples.

6 CHOCOLATE HOLIC returns following two months off and hasn’t had a public trial. Was competitive in Listed company in Melbourne. Suspect he’ll be somewhere near his best which means he should be far away.

7 DJANGO four lengths off War God doesn’t look the right form for this. Prefer others.

8 SILVERSTREAM awesome winner of The Northerly Stakes. Drawn well in three, Pike rides and looks the main danger to the ‘toppie.’

9 SALUBRIOUS no doubting a solid midweek win last start, but is only getting 6kg on Scales Of Justice when under handicap conditions would be getting three times that. Not here.

Selections: 1-8-6-5

Race 7: 4.50pm - CBRE – Conquer Cystic Fibrosis – Ascot Gold Cup (1,800m) - Bet with TABtouch

1 IHTSAHYMN needed the run first-up in The Northerly. Will enjoy the step up to 1800m and will again be running on late but place claims look best.

2 HIPPOPUS former Gai Waterhouse galloper who won almost half a million in prizemoney when at Tulloch Lodge. Was out of his depth last spring in Melbourne and Sydney though and prefer to see run in Perth before wagering.

3 FALCON CREST a half-length second to Material Man in the Northam Cup and hit the line well. Will go forward from barrier two and should be in this for a long way.

4 GATTING a near-tragedy beaten in the Northam Cup. Never saw daylight in the straight, and arguably would have won, even with a late split. Fortunes can change here from barrier five and if they do, is the one to beat.

5 BOLLYWOOD BLITZ hit the wall at the 100m mark in the Northam Cup. Drawn poorly in ten and going with others here.

6 DARK ALERT ran home okay in Northam Cup. With a few on the up here, a midfield finish looks best.

7 TONTO last years Gold Cup winner. Was ridden quietly and ran home alongside Dark Alert in Northam Cup. Was second-up there though and should improve third-up in this event. Each-way claims.

8 PUSHIN’ SHAPES scratched from last Saturday. Won well over the mile at Ascot three weeks ago. Drawn ideally in three and can figure.

9 SHINTA MANI first run in six weeks following Kalgoorlie Cup success. Will want further but should still be thereabouts.

10 DASK MUSKET nine lengths off War God last start suggests he’ll find this tough.

11 TOPPA DAWOZZA suited by soft speed when in behind leader See Me Sizzle last start. Going with others here.

Selections: 4-3-7-9

Race 8: 5.25pm – Craig Turnbull Six-O Birthday Handicap (1,200m) - Bet with TABtouch

1 GIGANTE brave effort under big weight to beat all-bar Achernar Star last start. Again jumps from a horror gate (13), but is too tough and too talented to dismiss.

2 MISTER PANON resumes. Dominated much of the autumn at Geraldton but then failed in town at last run last campaign. Happy to see come back here.

3 RED PADDY caught wide when throughout when 8L off Achernar Star. Draws barrier eight again so will need luck, but a change of fortunes could see a placing.

4 WOODBINE no match for State Solicitor and Dainty Tess. Looks tested here.

5 SALORSCI outclassed in the Northerly Stakes. Back to 72+ grade and back to 1200m should see a better result.

6 SETTLER’S CREEK ran home alongside Gunnago last start. Awkward draw in 12 but has the ability to figure.

7 RED PUBLISHER resumes. Produced some good performances in the autumn. First-up record is solid and can return well here.

8 WRINKLY went back from wide gate first-up behind Achernar Star and ran home evenly. Barrier five should see closer to speed.

9 CELEBRITY DREAM let down really well to score last start. Up in grade here but is talented and should give this a shake.

10 CONSEATED pattern of the day played against her when 3L off War Jeune. Gets back so tempo is key, but isn’t without a hope.

11 CRANKY DANCER nice return at Bunbury when at $81. Place chance looks best here though.

12 FRIARESQUE consistent winter performer who goes okay fresh, but look for over further ground.

13 FANCY FOX rocketed home behind Celebrity Dream last start. Broke 34 seconds for the last 600m. Drawn well in gate three and can swoop late here.

14 GUNNAGO super effort when fresh behind Achernar Star. Drawn better here in four and can make presence felt.
