Under the Radar: Belmont - Wednesday 12 July

Race 1 - 12:40pm Get The Tabtouch Maiden (1200 Metres) – Full Field

TABtouch opening price: $18

A daughter of Poet’s Voice, Maiwald trialled well recently when winning her heat at Lark Hill over 950m on Monday 3 July.

Mitchell Pateman rode in the trial and, considering the track was classified as soft, the filly clocked a sharp time of 57.84 seconds.

From barrier two, Lucy Warwick (who rides the three-year-old on raceday) can sit in a handy position and use the cutaway in the straight.

$18 is a great each-way price.

Race 3 - 1:55pm Carbine Club Of WA Handicap (1000 Metres) – Full Field

TABtouch opening price: $12

Double figure odds for a last start winner is generous.

The mare led all of the way in class three company last start and held off Sovereign Hall, which she meets again in this race.

Lucy Warwick rides on the minimum with 54kg and should be able to sit comfortably on the speed, more than likely outside of Veuve De Vega.

Don’t be surprised if the four-year-old mare gives a good kick in the straight and holds on to a top three finish.

Race 4 - 2:34pm Carbine Club Life Members Handicap (1000 Metres) – Full Field

TABtouch opening price: $9.50

The beautifully bred filly by Nicconi is a genuine speed runner which comes into the race without a trial.

The three-year-old showed plenty of precocity last preparation when leading and finishing fourth in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy over 1200m at Pinjarra behind Enchanted Dream, earlier this year.

Expect her to run along in the lead and be hard to catch over 1000m.
