Under the Radar: Ascot - Saturday 18 March

Race 1 - 1:14PM TABTOUCH HANDICAP (1600 METRES) – FULL FIELD

8. TERROR FORCE

TABtouch opening price: $7.50

Albeit with 52kg on his back, Terror Force ran an eye-catching third last start behind Material Man, which has since gone on to win the Listed Bunbury AHA Cup.

The son of Al Maher looked to have a spring in his step after flying home with a fast late 200m sectional.

Senior jockey Jerry Noske takes over riding duties and, from barrier three, should get another smooth cart up into the race.

Worth an each-way bet considering the favourite, Fathnoxious, has opened up at under the odds.

Watch the pink and white colours flash home for striking third:

Race 2 - 1:54PM SEACORP HANDICAP (1600 METRES) – FULL FIELD

9. KINGDOM AND EMPIRE

TABtouch opening price: $13

A three-year-old with plenty of upside is Kingdom And Empire.

Last start was disappointing on face value but the gelding just did not seem to stretch out after going from 1500m down to 1400m.

Back to 1600m is a big positive and, with Randy Tan’s 2kg claim, he only has to carry 52kg.

You only need to go back two and three starts ago when he ran excellent placings behind Listed-performed Just Like Fire and Amaliemoo.

Forgive last start and expect improvement out to 1600m.

Watch the green and brown colours get out late to run on well behind Just Like Fire which has since come out and placed in the Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas:

Race 8 - 5:35PM GET THE TABTOUCH HANDICAP (2200 METRES) – FULL FIELD

12. CULVERIN

TABtouch opening price: $8

Third up and over 2200m, Culverin looks to be suited perfectly in a race such as this.

The daughter of Musket has won third up before and shows her best over extended distances.

Do not forget that this is a filly that possesses class.

She ran third in both the WA Oaks and the WATC Derby behind some very good fillies and a good gelding, Who Dat Singa, which is now kicking goals in Hong Kong.

From barrier one, she gets every possible chance to show her best.

Watch her good first up run over 1400m when finishing sixth behind Watijadoo. She carries the green and yellow Yarradale Stud colours:
