Otheroneson brings alternate form lines to the WAROA-Belmont Guineas

Trainer Daniel Morton will be hoping that his plan can come together when Otheroneson takes his place in the Listed WAROA-Belmont Guineas (1600m) at Belmont Park on Saturday.

While most of the serious contenders will come through the Listed Raconteur Stakes, Morton was happy to detour that race and put his three-year-old in a benchmark 72+.

Morton said pre-race that his horse was slightly underdone on that occasion, words that can only scare his rivals considering he sat three-wide for most of the race and was still able to show a blistering turn of foot to win impressively.

It was very clear post-race that jockey Chris Parnham was also impressed with how tough the gelding by Demerit was.

Stripping fitter for that run and victory, he will now take on Devoted, who is two from two this preparation for owner/breeder Mr. Bob Peters, Rokanori who won impressively first-up and Searchin’ Roc’s who won the Group 3 Champion Fillies last preparation.

The race will commence at 3.40pm local time.
