Desert Vixen

Vixen returns

Simon Miller and Patrick Carbery will be hoping to continue their strong run of form together when they combine with Desert Vixen in the TABtouch–Better Your Bet Handicap (1100m) at Ascot Racecourse on Wednesday.

A winner of a three-year-old maiden in late-2021, the daughter of Rommel finished sixth in the Listed Burgess Queen, four-lengths behind the winner Buzzoom, before struggling in her next two starts.

Having shown those glimpses of strong ability, she has had a good spell and trialled up nicely on April 26 at Belmont Park Racecourse.

In the last 12 months, Carbery has amassed 93 winners for Miller from 473 rides at a 20% winning strike rate. He has only ridden more winners for Alan Mathews but is only striking at 12% for him.

Miller has the two runners on Wednesday, with The Admiral going around in the Crown Perth Maiden Handicap (1500m) after an encouraging Western Australian debut.

The four-year-old by Pride Of Dubai will be ridden by Clint Johnston-Porter from barrier 4.
