Constant Dreaming

No Dreaming for Durrant in Oaks

Leading trainer Adam Durrant will look to stop dreaming and make it a reality when his three-year-old filly Constant Dreaming steps out in the Group 3 City Of Belmont WA Oaks (2400m) at Ascot on Saturday.

By Blackfriars, his filly has turned the tables since finishing third at Geraldton three starts ago by winning the Listed 1000 Guineas (1800m) and the Listed Natasha Stakes (2200m).

Despite winning against similar fields, Constant Dreaming has shown versatility in the way that she has won both of her Listed races recently.

In the 1000 Guineas, she was able to sit just behind the leaders and then make a sustained run to the line, taking off and clearing away from the other runners.

In the Natasha Stakes she was forced to take up the lead, a position that she didn’t look extremely comfortable in, but was still able to have too much class.

Despite a few more additions to this field, the race still lacks genuine tempo, so it will be interesting to see what Durrant and jockey Clint Johnston-Porter do through the early stages from barrier 4.
