Amelia's Jewel

The Jewel of the Gimcrack

Exciting two-year-old filly, Amelia’s Jewel, will look to remain undefeated when she takes her place in the Group 3 Furphy–Gimcrack Stakes (1100m).

By Siyouni, the filly trained by Simon Miller caught the attention of most with her impressive trials in February.

She was able to take that form from the trials to raceday when she stepped out in the Listed Supremacy Stakes (1000m) on debut.

Sitting fourth throughout the run, she let down strongly to burst straight past the leaders and win by over two-lengths.

Following that victory, she will now have to carry 56.5kg as the top-weight and she will have to jump from barrier 12.

Despite those negatives she has still opened as the short-priced favourite as Simon Miller and Patrick Carbery look to continue their strong recent form.

Already in 2022, Carbery has won the Group 2 TABtouch-Perth Cup, the Listed Detonator Stakes, Listed Furphy-Bunbury Cup, Listed Supremacy Stakes, and the Listed-J.C Roberts Stakes.
