Fernie looks to continue two-year-old dominance

Ascot based trainer Luke Fernie will be hoping to continue his dominance with his two-year-olds when Costume Party steps out in the Listed MGIB-Supremacy Stakes (1000m) at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday.

Fernie has produced many two-year-old winners including the two-year-old Magic Millions winner Sheza Belter.

Costume Party finished second to Sheza Belter last start over 1100m at Ascot Racecourse on January 1, showing plenty of speed on that occasion.

The filly by A Lot, has had four career starts, winning on debut and then finishing in the top three for her other starts.

She has drawn barrier 5 on Saturday and will gain the services of Clint Johnston-Porter who rode her in a trial late last year.

Nine runners have accepted for the event, with the Pearce and Harrison stable both having two runners engaged.

The race card which commences at 12.28pm local time has three Listed events throughout the day, the MGIB-Supremacy Stakes, TABtouch-Bunbury Stakes and Furphy-Bunbury Cup.
