Perth Cup runners return for Listed Detonator Stakes

The Listed Detonator Stakes (1800m) at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday has attracted a strong field, including many runners making their return from the Group 2 TABtouch-Perth Cup.

Neufbosc, Platoon, Bella’s Idol, Cockney Crew and Paddy’s Shadow were all last seen in the TABtouch-Perth Cup but make their return to the track this weekend.

Seven-year-old mare Paddy’s Shadow finished second in the Perth Cup, Platoon flew home to finish third, while Cockney Crew and Neufbosc all finished in the top 8.

The Perth Cup runners will meet some in form gallopers including Utgard Loki who won the Pinjarra Mile last start at a big price, Solaia who finished third in the same race and Sentimental Queen who is a last start winner and only has to carry 53kg.

In a very even betting market, Platoon is odds-on favourite as of Friday afternoon, followed by Solaia, Paddy's Shadow and Sentimental Queen.
