Last Of The Line winning Saturday 20 February 2021 at Ascot Racecourse

Even Ngawyni Stakes

This year’s edition of the 78+ Ngawyni Stakes (1400m) at Belmont Park is set to be a close encounter.

Six of the 10 runners have opened under $10, with Last Of The Line being the narrow favourite from Too Close The Sun.

Last Of The Line, now a five-year-old gelding has won six from 11, including the Listed Detonator Stakes and is two from two when second-up.

His first-up run was strong behind Amasenus in the Listed H.G Bolton Sprint, but he will have to carry 62kg here second-up.

Too Close The Sun also has been allocated 62kg following his impressive campaign last preparation which saw him race against Group 1 company and finish second in the Railway Stakes.

True Attraction is another Listed winner and is on the third line of betting with William Pike in the saddle.

The big question mark around True Attraction is that he is dropping back from 2100m which he competed in last Saturday on a Heavy 10.

The race will be held at 4.10pm local time.
