Tena Koutou Winning Saturday 3 July at Belmont Park Racecourse

Classic Durrant

Leading trainer Adam Durrant will be hoping to add the Listed Drummond Golf Belmont Classic (2200m) to his already extraordinarily strong season when Tena Koutou steps out for him on Saturday in race 5.

The three-year-old gelding has had an impressive preparation with three victories and a second from his four runs.

Durrant took the gelding by Blackfriars to Kalgoorlie to break his maiden and since then has not looked back, winning the Listed Aquanita Stakes last start and now opening as favourite for this event on the weekend.

With only six runners accepting, Tena Koutou will get a perfect run from barrier 2 with Clint Johnston-Porter in the saddle.

Johnston-Porter and Durrant have been a formidable combination in the last 12 months, with Johnston-Porter riding over 100 winners at 16% for the stable.

Durrant will be hoping he can have another big day with eight runners engaged throughout the program.
