Flirtini Winning at Ascot Racecourse 16 November 2019

Blinkers applied for Flirtini

Five-year-old mare Flirtini will be hoping that the application of blinkers can spark her back into top gear ahead of the Group 3 Roma Cup (1200m).

The Simon Miller-trained galloper jumped as the short-priced favourite in the Group 3 Northam Stakes a fortnight ago but was unable to run to the best of her ability.

Flirtini will also have a new jockey in the saddle with Peter Knuckey taking over the reins from William Pike who will ride Windstorm for Grant and Alana Williams.

Knuckey will be the seventh jockey to ride the mare by Artie Schiller on race day in what will be start 26 for her.

The depth of the race has only increased from what was already an incredibly strong Northam Stakes with Group 1 winner Elite Time, Group 3 winner Dance Music and Victorian Listed winner Windstorm accepting for the $200,000 race.
