Fernie with options in small field

Luke Fernie will saddle up two runners in the Seacorp Handicap (1100m), which is race 1 at Ascot racecourse on Wednesday.

Devine Beast and Iseered Iseered will both take their place in what is a small but an extremely competitive field to start the day.

Devine Beast, a three-year-old filly by Magnus, was competitive last start at Ascot only narrowly beaten in a class 3 event over 1000m.

Apprentice Laqdar Ramoly will take the ride, meaning with his 2kg claim that she will only have to carry 58kg from barrier 5.

The stablemate, a three-year-old gelding by Safeguard, will be ridden by stable jockey Mitch Pateman and carry the 59.5kg from barrier 2.

He has been very consistent this preparation against stronger company and should appreciate a drop back in grade to the No Metro Wins Last Year, Special Conditions Handicap (54+).
