Born in South Australia in 1896, Davis saw service in both world wars, fighting at Gallipoli as a member of the 10th Infantry Battalion and serving with the home forces a quarter of a century later. Davis moved from SA to Western Australia in the 1920s, joined the WATC as a clerk in 1944 and, after a short period as the organisation's Acting Secretary in the early part of 1948, received the job permanently. Davis died in 1966 aged 69.
