Jaguar Grey (yellow and black colours) went within a whisker of beating Specialism on her debut last season
Jaguar Grey has had the misfortune to run into several smart gallopers in her first two starts but the Justine Erkelens-trained, Jade McNaught-ridden filly has an excellent chance to open her account in Wednesday's Western Racepix Maiden at Ascot Racecourse even though she has drawn wide.
The outside gate is from where Jaguar Grey will begin Wednesday's Western Racepix but, according to Punting Form, her best is more than four lengths better than every one of her midweek rivals and she achieved it last time out in one of the highest rating races we will see on a Wednesday. Jaguar Grey was strong through the line in the GTT Ventures Trophy two weeks ago so stepping up from 1,100 metres to 1,200m should suit and, thanks to McNaught's claim, she is the lightest weighted runner for her third start.
