Neurological was record-breaking apprentice Jade McNaught's first winner at black type level
More than 350 people participated in Round 17 of the PR TipStar - 2019 Belmont Park tipping competition but that did not stop Brenton Williams returning to the winner's circle, thanks in the main to his big bet on Farnley Stakes champion Neurological that earned him 1,210 of his event-topping 1,614 points.
Williams, whose PR TipStar - 2019 Belmont Park tipping alias is Brentonw86, is 56th on the overall leaderboard following his narrow Round 17 success. Williams selected four of the nine Farnley Stakes victors - Friar Fox, Amillionite, Bunker Buster and Neurological - but he fired blanks in the last race, Dam Ready finishing outside the top three. Luckily, the relatively short odds of Stageman, King's Authority and More Aces prevented anyone from catching Williams.
Two rounds of the PR TipStar - 2019 Belmont Park tipping competition remain and the overall prize is Montague Partners principal Glenn Montague's (Glennm) to lose because he leads the way by 292.40 points. Monague's Belmont Park tips have been very good throughout the winter, no doubt using his many excellent racing contacts.
