Point Taken (black, white and green colours) resumes after placing second in a hot form race

Punting Form race reports: Wednesday 14 August

Point Taken has drawn the outside gate for Wednesday's Amelia Park Handicap at Belmont Park and the Jim Taylor-trained mare has won only one of her 13 starts but, according to Punting Form, she comes out of a hot form race in which she registered her career-best effort both behind and ahead subsequent victors.

Uni Time was excellent in winning the Congratulations William Pike Handicap from Point Taken and Next Stop The Moon and you would have to search high and low to uncover a hotter form reference right now. Uni Time proceeded to take out a Saturday event and Next Stop The Moon posted back-to-back Wednesday wins. Point Taken reappears following three weeks off, her last-start figure is the pick of the Amelia Park Handicap field and none of her rivals can match her two-year peak rating over a sprint trip. Belmont Park's 21-metre rail means a maximum of 10 gallopers will line up in the Amelia Park Handicap so Point Taken's barrier is not the end of the world and Jason Brown is likely to be positive aboard her.
