Dark Musket stuck out his neck to win last season's Western Australia Cup
The Western Australia Cup is a specialist's race because of its 3,200-metre trip and returning champion Dark Musket has an excellent chance of posting back-to-back victories in the longest event on the WA thoroughbred racing calendar.
Dark Musket's two-year Punting Form personal best is more than three lengths better than any of his Western Australia Cup rivals, he was strong through the line in winning last year's edition that was run at a solid tempo for a 3,200m contest and he was taking large chunks of ground off Come Play With Me and Cappo D'Oro in the latter stages of the TABtouch-Pinjarra Cup earlier this month.
