Bold Success (cerise and white colours) has drawn a more suitable gate than when he placed second behind A Knight Of Pro two weeks ago

Punting Form race reports: Saturday 6 October

Bold Success did not get clear galloping room on his last start at Belmont Park until it was too late but, according to Punting Form, that race rated much better than the class benchmark and he drops in grade to contest the Devil's Lair Handicap over the same course and distance on Saturday.

A central gate for Bold Success means his jockey, William Pike, should be able to position him in a better spot than two weeks ago when he jumped from what was, for him, not the ideal barrier next to the inside rail. Bold Success does not need to go to another level to win the Devil's Lair Handicap and, sixth up in his first preparation since joining Adam Durrant from Grant and Alana Williams, he should still have some miles in his legs before going for his next spell.
